I didn't run this morning. A nice little knot in the back of my left calf wasn't going to let that happen. I'm going to try to get out tonight after dinner, so hopefully I'll be feeling better than.

In other news, I was checking out the website for the Baltimore Marathon, just to see if there were any updates or anything. And I found out they were going to have pace groups, which made me really excited, because it will be soooo nice to have people to run with the whole time who will be going at a similar, very slow pace.

I'm not a fast runner. Since my really bad knee injury last summer, I've been running between 12-13 minute miles. There's a pace group that will finish the marathon in 5:15, which if I did the math correctly is about a 12 minute mile. (If that math is really wrong I wouldn't be all that surprised).

But assuming it's correct math, I could potentially finish the marathon in 5:15, which would be a time I would be pretty happy with. So I think I will probably register with a pace group when I pick up my race packet and stuff.

I had never really considered using the pace groups before, but I don't know it seems like a great idea. And it will be soooo nice having someone help me keep pace, because it's not something I'm great at.

So that was my fun little discovery for the day!

  1. I have my own personal pacer :) But the group sounds great. And, yes, I just read about the hills of Baltimore. Ugh. I may reconsider.

  3. I wish I had a pace group for the time I was planning to run. I will DEFINITELY do that for this next marathon.

Good luck on your run tonight!
